  • How do I schedule an appointment?

  • Do I need a referral?
    We do not require a referral from a provider. However, we do prefer one as this can help integrate your care across us and your other providers, and helps to ensure you get the most consistent support. A referral can be provided at the time of your evaluation, and can come from any of the following: OB, Chiropractor, Nurse Midwife, or Primary Care Physician. The referral should read: Pelvic Floor Occupational Therapy Evaluation and Treat We also welcome clients who are self-referred.
  • Can I start getting therapy while I'm still pregnant?
    Yes! We absolutely can see you during your pre-natal journey, and in fact, specialize and all-things pre-natal, peri-natal, and postpartum.
  • Do I have to be pregnant or newly postpartum to get Medusa's services?
    Not at all! We are specialists in all things women's pelvic health, trained to address any concerns you may have about your pelvic functions, sexual health, or anything in between, whether you are months to many years postpartum, or have not had pregnancies or given birth. Pelvic health is a critical aspect of women's wellbeing, encompassing the reproductive system, urinary and bowel functions, functional mobility, and overall comfort. Maintaining pelvic health plays a crucial role in overall quality of life for women of all ages and experiences. We also offer expertise in sexual health counseling and functional perinatal mental health.
  • Can I give this as a gift to someone?
    Absolutely! Perhaps a family member or friend is expecting and you want to give the gift that keeps on giving long after the diapers run out and the onesies are outgrown. Please review the Pricing & Packages page for options, and then be sure to contact us to set up a your package choice as a gift from an individual, or a group baby shower gift!
  • Do you take insurance?
    We do not contract with any insurance companies. We choose to be an out-of-network provider in order to provide better, more holistic services for you. By not contracting, we can offer higher quality packages and services that truly encompasses you and your goals, and are not limited by what insurance dictates or thinks your goals should be, or how long your sessions can be, or how many visits you get. We do take FSA/HSA cards.
  • Can you provide superbills?
    Absolutely! We can provide you a superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurance company. This can help offset the cost of your specialized care. A superbill is a receipt that includes your diagnosis code(s), treatment codes, billing units, and how much you paid. Reimbursement depends on your insurance and the out-of-network percentage. For more questions regarding your out of network benefits, please call your insurance company as every plan & company is different.
  • How much does therapy cost?
    Please check out our Pricing & Packages page for a full explanation of the unique and robust services we offer, and the cost. The pricing has been thoughtfully set based on the breadth and depth of the detailed, compassionate, and personalized professional care you receive, and a realistic expectation of operation costs to maintain services and materials that are of the highest quality. However, it is also Medusa's desire to provide services that are accessible to most, if not all. If you have concerns about cost, but also very much would like to receive this specialized occupational therapy, please contact us. We are open to discussing payment plans!
  • What does an evaluation look like?
    Each evaluation is different depending on your personal needs, but all do follow the below general outline: It is a thorough, compassionate, 90-minute assessment and goal planning session. The evaluation will allow you time to share your you: your story, your concerns, your interests, your fears, your goals. We will discuss your roles and routines, both previous, current, and desired, observe your breath and movement patterns, and how you go about your day. We can assess your functional mobility, posture, and any pain you are having. We may provide screening for mental health, sensory profile, or others, as needed. An internal exam (if appropriate) to assess deeper muscular function is also an option, but is at your discretion, and consent is always ongoing and respected. We will talk about what brings you joy, what is meaningful to you, and from there, work with you to determine the best plan for achieving your goals. Everything about the evaluation is both comprehensive and fluid, allowing for as organic information-gathering.
